Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Work Assistant (Grade 6) to join our dynamic team in providing essential support to individuals and families navigating challenging situations. In this role, you will work closely with social workers and other professionals to assist clients in accessing various resources, services, and support systems. Your primary focus will be to help clients improve their quality of life while fostering a supportive and empowering environment. You will engage with a diverse clientele, addressing their unique needs and ensuring they receive appropriate assistance. This position requires a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills, as you will often serve as the first point of contact for clients in distress. You will participate in case management activities, conduct assessments, and facilitate communication between clients and service providers. Your work will be critical in helping clients develop coping strategies, enhance their resilience, and promote their overall well-being. Responsibilities
Assist social workers in developing and implementing care plans for clients
Conduct initial client assessments to determine needs and eligibility for services
Provide direct support to clients by facilitating access to community resources
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress
Educate clients and families about available resources and services
Support clients in developing life skills and coping strategies to enhance their independence
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
Previous experience working in a social services or healthcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Knowledge of community resources and services available to clients
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £16.62
Location: Cardiff, Cardiff County
