Your role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring vehicle and driver behaviours, ensuring compliance with legal standards and maintaining high operational performance.
They will lead the development of fleet and driver policies, collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance efficiency, and conduct accident investigations with clear recommendations.
The post holder will also act as the Authorised Examiner Designated Manager (AEDM), managing the Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) at Makerfield Way Depot, ensuring all documentation and procedures meet the legal requirements set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-focused individual with an understanding of fleet operations and compliance.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring vehicle and driver behaviours, ensuring that high standards and legal requirements are consistently met.
They will work collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners to drive fleet efficiency and lead the development and implementation of robust fleet and driver policies.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Our Fleet Services Department is responsible for the management of our Council’s fleet of vehicles and plant, including compliance, maintenance and repairs schedule, procurement and performance of vehicles and drivers.
