Your role:
Are you an experienced senior analyst with a passion for using data and insight to transform Public Health and Leisure Services? Join #TeamWigan as our Performance and Insight Unit Manager and lead the way in shaping innovative approaches to performance, research, and intelligence.
In this pivotal role you will:
- Drive improvement and integration across health, social care, and leisure.
- Develop cutting-edge analytical models, predictive tools, and performance frameworks.
- Influence local, regional, and national agendas for health innovation and reducing health inequalities.
You will manage a team of skilled analysts and work closely with Public Health, Health Protection, Civil Contingencies, and strategic leaders. Reporting to the Service Lead Performance & Insight, you’ll receive strong support.

About you:
You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for using data and research to transform public health and leisure services. With strong analytical skills, you can interpret complex information, develop predictive models, and create innovative performance frameworks. You have proven experience in public health, health or social care, and understand inspection and integration agendas. Skilled in relationship management, you influence senior leaders and thrive in partnership working across local, regional, and national levels. Leading and motivating teams comes naturally to you, and you’re confident in driving change. A relevant degree or equivalent experience, plus knowledge of GDPR and data protection, is essential.
