This role is for an experienced General Practitioner who values safe practice, clear communication and working as part of a team that takes care of both patients and staff. Purbeck Health Centre is recruiting an experienced Salaried General Practitioner to join our established, GP-led practice. Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience working in a UK GP Practice. About the role This role is suited to a confident, experienced General Practitioner who is comfortable working autonomously, managing clinical risk and contributing to the smooth running of a busy general practice. You will provide high-quality general medical services to the registered patient population and deliver safe, effective clinical care in line with professional and contractual standards. Key responsibilities You will: Independently assess, diagnose and manage complex and routine presentations Manage acute illness and deterioration safely and decisively Provide ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions Deliver face to face, telephone and online consultations as required Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with local and national guidance Refer patients to other services using agreed pathways Review, interpret and act on investigation results Complete clinical administration accurately and in a timely way Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records How you will work You will: Work autonomously while being part of a collaborative and supportive GP team Share responsibility for workload fairly and safely Support continuity of care where possible Contribute to practice decision-making and service development Attend and contribute to practice meetings Support, mentor or supervise other clinicians where appropriate Governance and quality You will: Take an active role in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement Contribute to significant event reviews and learning from patient safety events Fulfil safeguarding responsibilities for adults and children Work in line with practice policies, procedures and current legislation Promote a culture of high clinical standards, learning and accountability Professional responsibilities You will: Practise in line with General Medical Council standards Maintain appraisal and revalidation requirements Commit to ongoing professional development Act with integrity, accountability and sound clinical judgement at all times What matters to us At Purbeck Health Centre, we provide careful, reliable general practice care.
