The Trust is seeking a part time 0.6WTE Consultant Psychiatrist forRichmond Crisis Home Treatment Team. This is an established post.The vacancy has arisen due to current postholder moving on to non NHS roles.



This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic consultant psychiatrist to join this effective, friendly and rewarding service.



The clinical sessions are within the Richmond Home Treatment Team providing an acute assessment and short term treatment service for adults otherwise at risk of hospital admission within the London Borough of Richmond. The Team is based at Queen Mary’s Hospital until mid 2026 and clinical duties are carried out in service users’ own homes and at the health centre. From mid 2026 to Sep 2026 we are planning to relocate the team base to Mid 2026 Livingston House, 2-6 Queens Road, Teddington TW11 0LB. From end Sep 2026 the team will move permanently to Barnes Hospital, South Worple Way, Barnes, London, SW14 8SU.



The team typically has a caseload of 30-40 clients receiving home treatment. The consultant typically reviews 2-3 patients per day in addition to providing clinical leadership and undertaking the other work set out in the timetable below. Consultants are expected to see clients in their own homes, and at community venues for medical reviews, throughout the week.

The Consultant will assume medical responsibility for all patients under the team and have a particular responsibility for ensuring effective assessment, planning and delivery of care and in prioritisation of resources in conjunction with the Team Manager.
