An exciting opportunity has arisen for an hourly paid multi skills lecturer to join the vastly experienced Construction team, reporting to our Curriculum Manager. The department offers programmes from Level 1 brick, plastering and carpentry & joinery, through to Level 2 vocational programmes, including Bootcamps and Bespoke Employer-led Programmes. The team work with a number of experts throughout the sector to ensure learners are provided with the most up to date knowledge and skills for progression into their chosen field of work

As an hourly paid multi skills lecturer with Redcar and Cleveland College you will be responsible for creating and delivering a range of innovative and engaging lessons for both young people and adult learners, ensuring teaching and learning meets expected standards. You will be required to plan and deliver a suitable assessment programme ensuring marked work meets the colleges expectations along with tracking records for remaining up to date via both internal and awarding body systems, to show progressions whilst on programme. Administration tasks such as posting relevant classroom resources and materials to group Teams pages, entering information and data onto internal systems and communication is a required element of the role.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, enthusiastic and inspiring lecturer, with knowledge of current trends within the construction industry and the desire to upskill, where needed. High levels of IT and knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Teams would be beneficial. The ability to manage own time and workloads is required, along with being able to work independently, using own initiative is essential. Experience and knowledge of all elements linking to health & safety within the trades is required.

A Level 2 qualification within a brick, plastering or carpentry & joinery trade is essential, along with at least 2 years industry experience and the desire to learn skills within other services needed. A teaching qualification would be advantageous, with full support linking to teaching and learning being given. This is an hourly paid position, where teaching hours will be allocated upon enrolment of learners
There could be a requirement to teaching evening programmes
Availability through the day is also needed
