Crynodeb
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Assistant to support a gentleman living with dementia. The ideal candidate will offer respectful, person-centred support and be someone the client can build a strong sense of trust and comfort with over time. Prior experience working with individuals who have dementia is crucial and a requirement, as the individual can sometimes display challenging and aggressive behaviour. As a relationship is built with client, there is the potential for this role to increase in weekly hours. There is one large dog in the home, therefore the PA must be ok with dogs.
A key part of your responsibilities will involve preparing nutritious, meals and ensuring mealtimes are relaxed and supported. You will take time to build a trusting relationship with the client, offering companionship, reassurance, and a calm, consistent presence throughout daily activities. Additionally, you will be providing personal care including continence care.
