EHS Requirements for Spirit Prestwick AIC post Close

The AIC will be a fully integrated client badged facility from day one of acquisition closure. AIC currently employs 51 staff all located on site in Prestwick, approximately half the employees work within the office areas with the remaining working within the operational and/or warehouse space. Task's within these areas include, but not limited to machine operation, R & D, Lab activity, goods inwards/outwards, crane and FLT operation's.
There are some risk assessments in place for the facility, although most of these are generic Spirit documents, management of chemicals is limited and training documentation is minimal. While there appears to be no immediate workplace safety risk, compliance risk is believed to be high in relation to local legislation and ongoing compliance to our clients processes.

While the current scope of work does not indicate a full time EHS employee requirement, compliance with UK regulation and integration with our clients standards requires 6-12 months on site dedicated support. The EUKI EHS operating model does not have capacity to support this requirement, going forward if the AIC scope remains as is the EUKI EHS team will be able to maintain remote oversight and support for the facility.

An initial high level gap analysis has been conducted, identifying immediate requirements, these include but not limited to the following:

- Activity & task risk assessments to be conducted, existing risk assessments to be replaced to meet our clients requirements. Safe Working Instructions to be created for all RA's
- Chemical management process to be implemented, including creation Enablon handbook, COSHH assessment to be created, REACH compliance to be established, robust procurement process to be embedded, training requirements to be determined and ongoing plan created, PPE programme established & implemented.
