Crynodeb
The successful candidate may participate in the Obstetrics Department with regular fixed sessions and on call commitments on Labour Ward and as Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Fetal ECG (STAN) and advanced CTG training/updates will be provided at SGH. Relevant competencies will be assessed/reviewed before the trainee undertakes independent on call and following a comprehensive induction process. Those fellows/trainees who have not worked at SGH before will be supported at the outset of their fellowship with regard to obstetric on call. Initially they will shadow another senior trainee/resident consultant on call for the labour ward until the clinical obstetric lead is satisfied and the trainee is satisfied that they are able to safely and confidently undertake senior on call for Obstetrics. There are weekly CTG and peri-natal meetings that the fellow will be encouraged to attend. Educational/Management/IT courses are available to employees through the SGH Trust.
