We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and maintaining high standards of childcare. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes learning, growth, and wellbeing for both children and staff.
Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Oversee daily activities to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement educational programmes tailored to the needs of children aged from infancy to preschool age.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery environment.
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication and regular updates on children's progress.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to childcare provision and early childhood education.
• Organise staff rotas, manage resources efficiently, and oversee administrative tasks related to nursery operations.
• Promote a positive team culture centred on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Drive initiatives that enhance the quality of childcare services offered by the nursery.
Requirements
• Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members.
• Experience working with children across various age groups; knowledge of early childhood development is essential.
• Childcare qualifications such as early Years Educator in Childcare or equivalent recognised certification.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to organise schedules effectively whilst maintaining flexibility to meet operational needs.
• Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and child welfare.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in childcare provision. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team within a supportive environment committed to delivering exceptional childcare services.
