The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a committed and academically strong Student Support Worker with an English background to join a high-achieving secondary girls' school in Wandsworth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about literacy, communication, and supporting young women in their academic and personal development. You will provide in-class, small-group, and 1:1 support, with a particular focus on English skills, confidence building, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students across KS3 & KS4, particularly in English lessons
* Deliver small-group literacy interventions, including reading, writing, and comprehension support
* Assist students with additional learning needs, adapting English tasks to suit individual levels
* Promote strong study habits, positive behaviour, and academic resilience
* Support teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging, and structured learning environment
* Help students develop confidence in written and spoken communication
* Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Requirements:
* Strong background in English (Literature, Language, or related field)
* Experience supporting young people in a school or tutoring environment
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
* Passionate about supporting girls' education, wellbeing, and academic progress
* Patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive, student-led support
* Understanding of Safeguarding, SEN needs, and adolescent development
