Salary: £27,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Long term to permanent (permanent school contract after 10 weeks)
About the Role
We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Long Eaton area. The school has a strong sense of community, clear expectations and a supportive leadership team that values its support staff.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting young people to succeed academically and personally. The school is particularly keen to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has a subject strength or specialism and is confident delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions in that area.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN to access learning
- Deliver targeted interventions linked to your subject strength (for example English, Maths, Sports or another area)
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to support progress and confidence
- Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities
- Encourage focus, motivation and positive behaviour
- Help create a calm and supportive learning environment
Who We're Looking For
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary setting
- A clear subject specialism or strength and confidence leading intervention sessions
- Patient, adaptable and encouraging approach
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply with our support)
