Summary

A mobile, nationwide role responsible for servicing, maintaining and installing fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems, delivering fire safety compliance, inspections and technical support to a varied client base.

Candidates who have previous experience with pneumatic fire suppression installations / servicing would be highly desirable. Although this isn’t essential. However, you will be expected to complete the required training in this area.
SALARY: £27,000 to £40,000 per annum + Company Van + Benefits
LOCATION: London with nationwide travel

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Fire Extinguisher Engineer / Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join an established maintenance and servicing team operating nationwide.
As a Fire Extinguisher Engineer / Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing, maintenance and installation of fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems and associated fire safety equipment, ensuring full compliance with current British Standards.
The Fire Extinguisher Engineer / Fire Alarm Service Engineer role is mobile and field-based, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, travelling nationwide and engaging directly with clients while delivering high standards of fire safety and customer service.
This position offers structured bookings arranged by the office team, participation in an on-call rota and access to ongoing training and professional development within a 24/7 – 365 operational environment.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Fire Extinguisher Engineer / Fire Alarm Service Engineer include:
• Fire Equipment Servicing: Servicing fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems in line with BS5306 and BS5839 standards
• Compliance Inspections: Inspecting and assessing existing fire protection equipment to ensure suitability, functionality and compliance
• Site Surveys: Conducting surveys to identify future fire safety and fire protection equipment requirements
• Installations & Fit-Outs: Supporting installation works and providing technical expertise during service visits
• Customer Advice: Delivering clear fire safety advice and technical guidance to clients on site
• Documentation & Reporting: Completing service reports, certification and documentation accurately and submitting electronically
• On-Call Support: Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours emergency cover
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in fire safety, fire engineering or a related technical field
• Qualified to service fire extinguishers in accordance with current regulations
• Experience servicing or maintaining fire alarm systems, or willingness to be trained
• Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on the road
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach
DESIRABLE
• Experience working with pneumatic fire suppression systems
• Confidence supporting larger site visits or installation projects as part of a team
• Flexibility to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays
• A proactive, enthusiastic and adaptable working approach
