Applications are invited for 1 full-time Consultant Transplant Cardiologist. to support services in the Manchester Heart Institute across Manchester . The position will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital.

Manchester Royal Infirmary
The Manchester Royal Infirmary on the Oxford Road campus is a major university teaching hospital and a tertiary centre for cardiothoracic and cardiology services for the Greater Manchester region. It is also a Level 2 Adult Congenital Heart Disease centre, a Regional centre for Obstetric Cardiology, a Major Trauma Centre and a Major arterial centre for Vascular Surgery.
Wythenshawe Hospital
The Wythenshawe Hospital site is also a tertiary centre for cardiothoracic and cardiology services for the Greater Manchester region, and provides quaternary level services in heart and lung transplantation. It has been designated as the hub site for the MFT Single Cardiac Service.
Candidate will be expected to participate in on call cardiothoracic surgery and heart/lung transplantation on call rotas, which operate on a 1 in 5 basis.

As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester the Trust treats more than a million patients every year. The post holders will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists and 16 visiting Consultants in the Manchester Heart Institute.
A successful candidate with appropriate Cardiothoracic Transplantation experience will be primarily based at Wythenshawe Hospital. Candidates will be expected to participate in on call cardiothoracic surgery rotas, which operate on a 1 in 4 basis.
