Neway International are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our client based with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.

Location: Oldway House, Porth
Hours: 37 per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:30)
Start Date: 19 January 2026
End Date: 12 April 2026
Pay Rates: £13.26 PAYE

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is one of the largest local authorities in Wales, committed to delivering high-quality services that make a positive difference to the community. The Social Care Charging Team forms part of the Financial Management and Accounting Division, supporting the Council’s Community & Children’s Services Group.

The Role
This temporary role provides essential administrative support to the Social Care Charging Team during a period of secondment cover. You will assist in maintaining financial databases, processing payments, raising invoices, and supporting day-to-day office routines. Training will be provided on system processes and procedures to ensure smooth completion of financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update the Council’s financial databases accurately and in a timely manner

Process payments and raise invoices using designated financial systems

Assist with daily workloads and office routines, including mail handling, scanning, and electronic filing

Provide general administrative support to the team as required

Candidate Requirements
Experience of working in a financial administration role

Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and methodically, demonstrating strong organisational skills

Good communication skills, both written and verbal

ICT literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages

Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes

Knowledge of services provided by the Council’s Community & Children’s Services Group is desirable but not essential
