Are you passionate about food, art and education? Do you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment?

Risedale is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Food and Art Technician to join our dedicated team. We are immensely proud of our staff, who are key in creating the excellent, unique learning experience that defines our school.

You will play a vital role in supporting our Food Technology and Art curriculums, ensuring both departments run smoothly and providing essential assistance to teachers and pupils to foster a safe, enjoyable, and effective learning environment.

The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As a vital part of the Food Technology and Art teams, your key responsibilities will include:

• Curriculum Support: Assisting teachers and pupils with planned activities and practical sessions.
• Preparation: Preparing, setting up, and clearing away ingredients, materials, and equipment for lessons.
• Maintenance & Safety: Ensuring a safe and effective working environment, including checking and maintaining equipment and managing stock.
• Operational Smoothness: Playing a key role in the daily organisation and smooth operation of both faculties.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking to appoint a highly effective Technician with:

• An academic qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2, or GCSEs grade 4 / C (or equivalent).
• Experience working in a school, with young people or in a laboratory
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• The proven ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating strong independence and initiative.

If you are ready to take on this exciting role and contribute to our unique learning experience, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like further information on the role or would like to arrange a visit to the school, please email Angelique Armstrong, Senior Office Administrator, at armstrong.a@risedale.org.uk to arrange a suitable time.

Completed application forms should be emailed to jobs@risedale.org.uk or alternatively can be posted to Lucy Greenwood, Headteacher, Risedale School, Hipswell, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire DL9 4BD.

PLEASE NOTE: The school will not accept referrals or CVs from supply or employment agencies for this post.

Closing date: 23:59 22nd January 2026

Interview date: Week commencing 2nd February 2026

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will therefore be required to complete an enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure. We encourage applications from all sectors of the community.
