We are seeking a consultant with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation.

We are looking to appoint a new substantive head and neck consultant that will enhance the service of our ENT department that covers a population of approximately 560,000 patients with on-call cover population of around 1 million (shared with West Herts NHS Trust). The Trust is the largest in Hertfordshire and in the Integrated care services network.



The Trust has a comprehensive programme of leadership mentoring available for newly qualified Consultants. Opportunities are also available to other Consultant appointees to play an active part in the programme.



Applicants must be on or within 6 months of being on the Specialist Register at the time of interview. Applications from those wishing to work part-time or job share are actively encouraged.

• To provide general ENT service with oncall cover for East and North Herts and West Herts (all of Hertfordshire)
• To work alongside existing consultants to provide cover for the trust and region
• To develop new services
• To participate in the department’s teaching, audit, research and educational activities
• Maintenance of high-quality patient centered care
• Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service
• Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
• Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
• Delivery and development of SACT administration
• Active participation in continuing medical education
• Active participation in trial research activities
