Summary

Action all referrals and facilitate triage to the urgent pathway as appropriate. As Team manager provide information to the regional lead in order that they may assess and challenge the service delivery on behalf of the veterans. This is where services are not being agreed according to the veterans mental health agenda across the Midlands region. Work to improve and promote NHS service provision by actively engaging with the 3rd Sector providers who already have access and are providing support to veterans across the region. Delegate aspects of the role to other members of the team, whilst maintaining overall responsibility for team delivery, where appropriate. Work alongside regional manager in managing caseload and service delivery in accordance with and in order to contribute towards the attainment of Service/Trust productivity requirements. Assess carers and families needs and develop, implement and review programmes of support for cares and families. Promote direct supervision to specified staff. Receive and, where appropriate participate in staff development and performance appraisals. To recruit to posts within their locality. Support the development of the professional practice in the service, ensuring the provision of clinical supervision. Promote the mission and values of the Trust. Support the Regional Lead in planning and managing the overall expenditure of the team of staff, supplies equipment, etc., within the budget, determined by the Divisional Manager and in accordance with the Trusts standing orders, standing financial instructions, budgetary rules and other financial policies. Attend relevant regional and national meetings, contributing professional development activities to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge in meeting the needs of service users. Linking in and supporting peers across Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust and Lincolnshire Partnership Trust. Assist the Regional Lead by monitoring performance and activity targets. Promote equality and ease of access to Services, linking in with services across the West Midlands. Support the development and use of systems to monitor and review the Service Provision against national and local standards as a means of initiating and implementing change and ongoing improvement in services content, quality and delivery. Support the Regional Lead on service improvement following internal case review, complaints and incidents. Play an active role in relevant professional and service improvement groups, within the service and Trust-wide. Attend countywide groups for service area in health and/or social care and other agencies and to support their activities and the development of integrated and inclusive provision to ensure effective pathways of care. To advise the Regional Lead of any undue occurrence reported or witnessed or complaint received. Liaise with services involved at time of crisis i.e. police, LIDI teams or A/E staff. Liaise with other OpCourage providers and third sector agencies to ensure veteran and families are linked into appropriate support.
