Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre is a 17 bedded unit providing specialist neurorehabilitation for people with complex needs following a neurological event / diagnosis e.g. Acquired Brain Injury or spinal injury. The service also includes Rakehead Community Neurorehabilitation Team (RCNT), which provides a service to patients across East Lancashire. The post is split across both the inpatient and community teams. We are looking for a team player to help us build on our achievements and to ensure that we respond to the challenges of people with complex rehabilitation needs. Our patients present with a combination of physical, psychological and cognitive impairments requiring the support of a dedicated MDT committed to supporting them to achieve their optimum level of independence. Whilst experience in this area is desirable, we are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about working in this specialist area.

This post requires a motivated, positive person with previous experience of working in a healthcare setting and an understanding of the Rehabilitation process, management of complex neurological conditions, and challenging behaviour. Applicants will be committed to inter-disciplinary team working and the empowerment of individuals.

To assist the qualified Clinical Neuropsychologist at Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre (RRC) / Rakehead Community Neurorehabilitation Team (RCNT) to provide a high quality, effective Clinical Neuropsychology Service. Main duties will include assessment and formulation of need, organisation, and delivery of components of individual and group treatment programmes, audit, service evaluation, maintenance of databases, conducting triage and follow-up assessments, development of self-help materials for patients & administration and scoring of psychometric questionnaires and standardised cognitive assessments all under supervision appropriate to band level. As this post involves working in a community setting it is essential that you have have a full driving licence and access to a car.

As a member of the Rakehead team, you will receive an intensive induction programme followed by on-going support and training to meet your needs. Finally, you will be working with a warm and friendly team who are passionate about working in this very specialised area.
