Job Summary
As a Finance Product Manager within our Product Management Team, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of our finance products across their full lifecycle. You’ll gather and prioritise product and customer requirements, define a clear product vision, and work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure products meet business goals and maximise value.
You’ll build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders — including Business Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and IT Leads — working with them to develop and deliver an achievable Product Roadmap. You will create and maintain clear, actionable backlogs and communicate progress effectively.
Bringing solid experience in product management and agile methodologies, you’ll unite stakeholders to solve problems, enhance product capability and support the organisation in meeting its strategic and operational objectives. You’ll also provide matrix leadership to cross-functional colleagues within your product squad, ensuring alignment, engagement and delivery against agreed expectations and governance processes.
As this role focuses on finance products within St John, applicants must have strong experience with finance systems, processes and controls.
About You
Proven experience managing finance systems and processes, with strong financial acumen and understanding of finance business processes, controls and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrable experience across the full finance product lifecycle — product vision, roadmap creation, backlog management, and user story development — using agile methodologies.
Strong understanding of financial system architecture and experience supporting the development of financial reports.
Skilled in leading and motivating cross-functional product teams, coordinating multiple workstreams, and transitioning delivery projects into business-as-usual environments.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical solutions for non-technical audiences.
Experience managing third-party suppliers to deliver products to agreed time, cost and quality, alongside proficiency with tools such as Jira/Azure DevOps, Confluence and MS Office.
About the Role
Define and deliver a clear product strategy and roadmap aligned to organisational goals and the DDaT transformation programme, managing timelines, risks and opportunities.
Lead cross-functional squads to deliver product features and improvements, running core agile ceremonies and maintaining high-quality documentation across requirements, design and testing.
Act as the recognised product expert, building strong relationships with stakeholders, gathering user insights and prioritising high-value features.
Work collaboratively with external partners on transformation initiatives and product enhancements, ensuring effective governance, communication and performance monitoring.
Inspire, engage and empower colleagues and users, promoting diverse perspectives and encouraging continuous improvement across the organisation.
Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative, contributing flexibly to duties required at the level of the role and supporting a positive, high-performing team culture.
