Job Advert

Are you passionate about nature and looking to make a real impact on Yorkshire’s wild spaces? Join one of the UK’s fastest-growing
nature conservation charities as a Project Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our West Project team and to undertake landscape and catchment-scale habitat restoration
and creation across Yorkshire. As Project Officer you will primarily support delivery of natural flood management (NFM) and river
restoration projects in the Aire catchment with the opportunity to support other projects within the West team.

You will lead and coordinate the delivery of NFM and river restoration work on the Aire catchment. In addition to managing
delegated projects and budgets, you will collaborate closely with partners to develop new initiatives and secure funding, while
maintaining strong relationships with funders and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include recruiting and supporting
volunteers, coordinating surveys and delivering on-the-ground interventions in partnership with landowners and contractors.
Ensuring timely reporting, you will assist with record keeping of interventions and surveys with some input into the project’s GIS
mapping. You will also help organise and support public engagement events and activities to raise awareness of the project's
value.

You’ll need up to date knowledge of river and wetland habitats, and enjoy undertaking regular, hands-on physical work.
Self-motivated and well-organised, you’ll be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and confident in engaging
with stakeholders, volunteers, and contractors.

How to apply:

Please submit an up-to-date CV and supporting statement. When writing your supporting statement, please ensure you describe your
relevant knowledge, skills and experience aligned to the Person Specification within the Job Description. Please be aware that if
you only submit a CV, your application may not be considered.

Please DO NOT include any personal details (name, address etc) on your supporting statement.

Closing date: Sunday 11th January 2026 at 10pm

Interview date: Thursday 29th January 2026 (in person)

Please note that applications received after the closing deadline may not be considered. The Trust regrets that it is unable to
give feedback on unsuccessful applications.
