We are seeking a dedicated Developer to contribute effectively to our dynamic IT Product Team and support the technical management of our new backend digital system.
In this role, you will be central to developing and shaping innovative applications, supporting digital systems throughout their entire lifecycle, and making a meaningful impact through your expertise.
Salary: £44,075 to £47,181 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ (hybrid working)
Interview Date: Week commencing 19 January 2026
Regular attendance at your base location will also be necessary, and there will be opportunities for remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
About the Job
Working within agile methodologies and under effective oversight and management of technical solutions, you will be a member of the team responsible for the development and automation of various digital interactions, including streamlining the transfer of data into essential back-office systems.
Our work in Configuration & Development Team and any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:
You will act as a professional for the use of some digital tools or specific systems configuration. Specifically, you will:
- Help develop and support application and web-based solutions.
- Develop and configure appropriate digital systems.
- Ensure solution testing is robust and effective.
- Support systems post development/configuration.
- Provide expert advice in relation to some or all aspects of the configuration methods and/or digital tools.
- Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
- Use your experience and competence to develop enterprise workflow, e-form and other digital tools.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree, or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge in enterprise workflow, system configuration, or application development.
- Proven advanced practical experience in development activities, including data capture (e-form) development and configuration, as well as enterprise workflow configuration.
- Experience in collaborating and building professional networks, with a track record of providing expert advice to a diverse range of staff and partner organisations.
- Experience and confidence in engaging with individuals, including the public, service users, and staff, with the ability to establish credibility at all levels within the organisation.
- Ability to efficiently assimilate multiple sources of information, considering risks, issues, and implications of a given solution, and to effectively influence clients and colleagues to adopt the most suitable course of action.
