We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Specialty Doctor in the Digestive Diseases Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity for doctor with experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy to develop their skills in a supportive and progressive environment supporting delivery of high quality care for patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
For entry to the Specialty Doctor grade, applicants must have at least four years of post- registration training, of which at least two years must be in a specialty training programme in Gastroenterology, or must be able to demonstrate comparable skills and competencies
The applicant should be keen, hardworking and have willingness to work flexibly as a team member.
The post offers a balance of endoscopy, inpatient and outpatient work. The post holder will run outpatient clinics, have responsibility for patients on the ward, participate in endoscopyand will work closely with colleagues in delivering and developing the services locally.

• OP clinics and all associated reviews/responses under consultant supervision and guidance
• Triage of primary care referrals / A&G referrals
• Independent endoscopy sessions (elective and/or inpatient)
• To provide ongoing care of patients on acute wards at RBH in partnership and consultant colleagues.
• The post holder is expected to supervise junior medical staff and have continuing in- patient responsibility in conjunction with the members of junior doctors’ medical team
• Participation in clinical audit
• Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
• To attend meetings of the Directorate of Gastroenterology and any other pertinent management meetings as deemed necessary.
