We are proudly recruiting an experienced HGV Technician on behalf of our client, a leading specialist in commercial vehicle services. As the HGV Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of commercial vehicles, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Main Duties for the HGV Technician:
- Conduct maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on commercial vehicles and trailers
- Identify faults through testing and inspections, then carry out high-quality, permanent repairs
- Complete all relevant documentation for warranty, retail, and contractual work
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to reduce customer downtime
- Collaborate with colleagues and undertake additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor
- Support the team in maintaining workshop efficiency and high standards of workmanship
Candidate Specification:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- Proven experience in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles
- Up-to-date manufacturer training and strong technical knowledge
- Organised, methodical, with excellent attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is preferred but not essential
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
