What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with enthusiasm, creativity and the ability to motivate and engage our pupils. The role of HLTA is integral to the smooth operation of the school and the enhanced opportunities we give to our pupils. The role is primarily to oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff or to provide time for teachers and leaders to undertake their wider school roles.
The successful candidate will be expected to meet HLTA national standards or hold equivalent skills, expertise or experience. Excellent numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to NVQ level 2 in English and Maths and IT skills sufficient to advance pupils' learning are essential for this position.
This is a permanent contract for 30 hours per week, term time only.
The successful candidate will:
• Meet HLTA national standards (or hold equivalent skills, expertise or experience)
• Have excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Have a good level of communication skills
• Be experienced in dealing with challenging behaviour
• Be committed to the safeguarding of all children
• Uphold the school's Christian values
