An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a permanent Grade 8 Social Worker within the Sunrise Complex Safeguarding Team based at Rochdale Police Station.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and skilled Social Worker in engaging young people through a child centred and relational approach, with professional knowledge and expertise in responding to child exploitation issues.

The Sunrise Complex Safeguarding Team is a multi-agency team (made up of social workers, police, health and parenting support) focused on tackling child sexual exploitation (CSE) and child criminal exploitation (CCE) in Rochdale. The team uses innovative ways in engaging young people, focusing on young people’s strengths and ambitions, whilst being trauma informed.


Key Tasks of role:

  • Assessing and understanding the needs of children and young people who are at risk of / being criminally and sexually exploited; ensuring that they are safeguarded and protected.
  • Working in new ways and using innovative tools and frameworks to get the best out of young people and their family/carers.
  • Building trusted relationships with young people; creating and providing bespoke direct work sessions and intervention plans
  • Working as part of a co-located multi-agency team; establishing and developing collaborative working relationships with other agencies and services to ensure effective service intervention and delivery.
  • Contributing to a multi-agency response in tackling CSE and CCE prevention, protection, prosecution and building public and professional confidence.
