Creative Support is seeking a dedicated, well organised and professionally inquisitive individual to join us as a Purchasing Team Leader at our friendly Head Office in Stockport. The Purchasing department is a key support to over 600 front line services across the country, we enable the efficient and cost-effective support to supply stationary, janitorial and other essential items. We also support our national staff and managers with the purchasing of travel and hotel accommodation.
The Purchasing Team Leader will be responsible for day-to-day support and oversight of team in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager. As part of the team, you will create Purchase orders (POs), order goods, liaise with suppliers to negotiate best pricing and query expenditure to ensure the companies money is spent appropriately. As Team Leader you will oversee some areas of purchasing that maybe more complex in nature and also work in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager to supervise the Purchasing team to ensure smooth running of the department.
This role will suit someone with excellent numeracy skills and good financial management ability, with experience of supervising a team and overseeing the productivity of a workstream or department. An excellent standard of verbal and written communication is also required, as well as good skills in IT and experience of using Microsoft Office programmes. You must have strong customer service and communication abilities for interaction with both internal and external customers. You should be able to work in a fast-paced office environment and be able to prioritise your workload confidently. You must also have efficient and accurate coordination skills, as well as an excellent ability for attention to detail and analysis, and a hardworking and resourceful approach to the role.
A genuine interest in working within the health and social care sector is essential. Continuous professional development will be provided, but you must be able to work independently, willing to work flexibly, and be motivated to the goals and changing needs of the organisation.
