Neway International are seeking an Administration Officer to join our client based with Denbighshire County Council.
Location: County Hall, Ruthin, Denbighshire, LL15 1YN (Hybrid – 2 days in Ruthin or Rhyl) Hours: 37 per week (Full time – some flexible working may be possible) Start Date: 05/01/2026
Duration: initially for a 3 month contract that will be extended after review.
Pay Rates: £14.35 PAYE / £18.59 Umbrella

The Role
As an Administration Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of administrative, financial, and organisational processes to support the service. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you will contribute to the planning and development of support systems, manage records, and provide professional administrative support across the directorate. This is a hybrid role requiring a balance of office-based and remote working.
Key Responsibilities
Manage manual and computerised record/information systems.
Analyse and evaluate data, producing reports and information as required.
Compile and collate complex documents and undertake IT-based tasks.
Provide administrative support including minute taking, event organisation, and visitor management.
Process invoices, coding sheets, and monitor budget spreadsheets.
Complete and submit complex forms to internal and external agencies.
Provide guidance and support to staff, contributing to effective team operations.
Undertake research and obtain information to inform decisions.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with council policies at all times.
Candidate Requirements
5 GCSEs (Grades A–C) including Maths and English.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant discipline.
Experience in the development, management, and operation of administrative systems.
Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, databases, and spreadsheets.
Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
Knowledge of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver workload effectively.
Team player with the ability to work constructively and independently.
Respect for confidentiality and commitment to safeguarding.
Empathy with Welsh language and culture (Welsh language skills desirable).
