We are excited to be in a position to recruit a Corps Mission Lead, to work alongside our Officer, Soldiers and volunteers in serving our towns community, sharing God's love, and bring more people into God's family. Could it be You?Key Responsibilities:Support the development of and delivery of the overall setting spiritual programme, ensuring there are clearly defined objectives and that regular monitoring and review procedures are implemented to monitor progressFacilitate people’s Christian discipleship, worship and social action, leading prayer, facilitating group worship, providing pastoral support as appropriate, and modelling a consistent Christian lifestyle within the communityProvide a safe, well-presented and welcoming environment for all members of the community (ensuring equality of opportunity for all) where they can engage with community activities and receive support with a wide range of practical and spiritual needsWork to build and maintain positive working relationships with the wider Salvation Army, other faith organisations and churches, statutory and NGO agencies, local schools and the local council where relevantWhere relevant, manage employees/volunteers, including recruitment, development and performance managementSuccessful candidate will have:A Passion for Sharing the love of God and inviting others to be part of His mission An Ability to think ‘outside the box’ and adapt practice to missional context as required A vibrant Christian faith with knowledge, experience, and an understanding of the spiritual aims of the programme, the ability and willingness to support the fulfilment of the spiritual aims of the programme and the needs of programme participants, the ability to lead prayers, show compassion and understanding, and be confident in open discussion about spiritual matters relating to missionStrong previous experience of working successfully in a similar role developing and managing corps/church programmes to meet the needs of the community, with experience of corps/church leadership, and helping people explore the Christian faith in creative and relevant ways Demonstrable strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the proven ability to convey information to the community and colleagues in a clear, effective and professional mannerStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop successful and collaborative working relationships both within and outside the corpsThis role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK, PVG, Driving Licence and relevant qualificationsFor details of how to prove your right to work in the UK please click here and please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship.
