Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £36,363 (Level one) rising to £39,152 (Level 4) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Role

Make a Difference in the Lives of Others

Are you passionate about supporting people through challenging transitions and helping them build new lives in our city? We’re looking for a compassionate, proactive and organised individual to join the Migration team as a Homes for Ukraine Support and Resettlement Officer funded by the Government. This post provides vital advice, support and signposting, along with managing relationships between hosts and guests and stakeholders and helping our guests integrate into life in Nottingham.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building relationships with Hosts and Guests, and welcoming new arrivals
  • Leading on welfare visits and initial case work support by signposting Guests around health, education, housing and resettlement issues
  • Safeguarding both hosts and guests
  • Negotiation and mediation to avoid breakdown in relationships between Guests and Hosts.
  • Partnership working and liaising with other statutory services and voluntary sector partners
  • Advising, informing, and assisting Ukrainian guests on housing and tenancy matters and supporting Guests transition from host homes into private rental accommodation
  • Assessing needs and finding solutions

About You

Essential Criteria we are looking for:

  • Experience in refugee resettlement, social care, or community support case work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to write reports, statements and correspondence to a high level
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, welfare systems, and local services
  • Negotiation, mediation and problem-solving skills
  • IT and excellent organisational skills
