A global bank is recruiting a Regulatory Control specialist for their Markets division. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-class institution and play a key role in strengthening regulatory controls, driving automation, and influencing strategic change across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role:You'll be responsible for reviewing and enhancing systematic regulatory controls, collaborating with technology teams and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficiency. This position offers exposure to complex regulatory frameworks and the chance to deliver meaningful improvements in a dynamic environment.
Details:Start date - ASAP
Contract - Initial 6 months
Location - London
Hybrid - 3 days / week in the office
Rate - £600 - £670 /day Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and categorise exceptions flagged by regulatory controls, identifying opportunities for automation and refinement.
- Develop training materials and documentation to support the transition of new control frameworks into BAU.
- Highlight thematic issues and data anomalies to control owners, reducing false positives and improving control efficacy.
- Draft requirements for technology enhancements and partner with tech teams to implement, test, and deliver changes.
- Present control disposition outcomes and governance metrics to senior stakeholders.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience delivering regulatory change within Markets (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II/R, UMR, US Bank Regulations).
- Hands-on experience designing and managing 1LOD Markets regulatory controls.
- Tier 1 banking experience
- Exposure to end-to-end execution and control design across at least two asset classes.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in automation and efficiency improvements.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing abilities across global teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with an ability to manage large datasets.
- Ability to write SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
