Based in Clydebank, our team is recruiting for a compassionate and creative *female colleague with a positive attitude to join them as a Support Practitioners to cover maternity leave on an 8 month fixed term basis with potential to be extended.

You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.

About Us:

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country's largest provider of social care. We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism. Some of the people we support can present challenging behavior or require a high level of personal care.

The Role:

The individuals we support have diverse needs, including Mental Health challenges, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma.

As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to take an active interest in the hobbies and passions of those we support. Whether it’s discovering new opportunities, encouraging social connections, learning new skills or reducing isolation, you’ll help individuals lead the lives they choose.

To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

Have an empathetic and caring nature.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in using computers.
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our new team will provide 24/7 support, including early shifts starting at 7:30am, late shifts, sleepovers and potentially waking nights. Start and finish times may vary as the individuals settle into their new routines. The role will also include working weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.

The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours, so for every sleep you cover you will receive an additional £90.40 in your pay.
