Summary

We are recruiting an Administrative Assistant (Catering) at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 22.5 hours (4.5 hours Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed term until 31st December 2026
Location: Ty Penallta/ Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team supporting essential services for schools and communities. You will provide efficient and effective administration support to Catering Services.



The postholder must have strong administrative and organisational skills and have excellent communication with attention to detail.



The main duties of the post are:

Assess and authorise applications for free school meals.
Produce and deliver management information.
Liaise with schools and milk contractor with regards to school milk delivery changes, problems, queries and invoices.
Assist in the production of marketing and promotional material for secondary schools.




For the role, we ask that you have:

A Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
The ability to communicate accurately and concisely with external suppliers/bodies, officers of the Council.
Use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint.
Experience of general clerical / administrative work.
