Launched in October 2015, the Confucius Institute at Oxford Brookes University is a partnership with the Foreign Languages Teaching and Research Press in Beijing. There are nearly 500 Confucius Institutes throughout the world and they are non-profit collaborations established to promote Chinese language and culture. The specialist focus is on Publishing and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help run the operations of the Institute. We organize a range of events and activities from short courses in Mandarin and exhibitions about Chinese culture through to research projects and training in the area of publishing.

You will be responsible for:
Helping to run the day-to-day operations of the Confucius Institute
Organizing a diverse range of events and activities
Developing contacts with relevant local and national communities to market, promote and develop the activities of the Institute
Organizing courses in Chinese language and culture, from handling enquiries through to their successful delivery.
You should have:
Significant administrative experience working in a busy office
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience of successful project management
Excellent teamworking, IT and communication skills.
This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system.
