Summary

Specification of the Role:
• Must hold ABMU physical intervention training certificate approved under the
British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD)
• Hold a Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent (minimum level 3)
• Hold or attain a Btec level 4 PBS certificate, whilst in post
• Hold or attain Training qualification e.g. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, E.A.T. etc
• Experience of working with computer software packages e.g. Word, Excel &
PowerPoint
Overall Purpose:
• Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and delivery of PBS
training / programmes and associated course material
• Support the PBS Training & Development Officer to meet Innovate Trust’s
responsibilities as directed, in ensuring Community Living Services are
compliant with current Positive Behaviour Support best practice, following the
“Reducing Restrictive Practices Framework”.
• Support and assist the PBS Training & Development Officer to work in
partnership with Innovate Trust Community Living Service and colleagues in
the multidisciplinary team, to deliver, implement and monitor behavioural
support plans for supported individuals, in a person-centred way.

• Develop skills, competence and knowledge of staff, so that they can work in a
positive and proactive way to minimise the use of all forms of restrictive
practices
Main Duties:
• Coordinate and deliver various types of PBS training to Service Managers and
their teams as well as supporting employees in applying Positive Behavioural
Support systems in the workplace.
• To assist with planning and administrating for both internal and external
training including arranging venues, attendance lists, examinations and
equipment etc
• Contribute to the continuing improvement of service quality standards in terms
of consultation, operational interaction and support, to satisfy internal quality
assurance and external regulation
• To work closely with Service Managers; Assistant managers and Support staff
to promote; inform and establish best practice in PBM related strategies
• Comply with legal obligations, ensuring safe practices and working conditions
are maintained
• Assist the PBS Training & Development Officer with development of PBS plans.
• To facilitate hospital, dental and chiropody visits and advance PBM
interventions, alongside the PBS Training & Development Officer
• To assist in providing PBS related reports as required by the organisation and
by ABMU
• Effectively communicate / liaise with PBS Training & Development Officer,
Manager of Staff Development & Health & Safety, Colleagues, Service
Managers, and relevant others, providing accurate information and feedback
• Respect GDPR by maintaining confidentiality of staff and supported
individuals’ information and adhere to all data protection legislation
