What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors at Greystones Primary School are looking to appoint Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our Key Stage 2 team, starting in February 2026.

The position will involve working in this team in school supporting individual pupils who need extra support to access their mainstrem provision in school.

The successful candidate will:

• enjoy forming positive relationships with all pupils in school, especially children whose needs and experiences mean they sometimes need bespoke provision
• have had some trauma-informed training and be interested to learn more, as necessary
• be confident to work within a team, supporting each other to implement clear boundaries and structure for children, alongside high levels of nurture and care
• aim high for every child, ensuring the best academic and wider outcomes for children who need extra support in school
• have a role supervising children during some playtimes and lunchtimes to ensure positive social experiences at school
• be an excellent team-player and good communicator

What the school offers its staff

You will be part of a passionate and professional team dedicated to ensuring that children receive excellent learning opportunities and the best possible care in an inclusive and purposeful environment, shaped to their needs.

At Greystones we are committed to inclusion and we have high standards for all pupils. Staff who join our friendly and committed team are supported to grow and develop their practice through exceptional CPD and support from a warm, passionate group of dedicated professionals.

Greystones Primary School is in the process of conversion to academy status, joining Peak Edge Academy Trust in early 2026. It is expected that this position will be appointed directly to the newly converted academy.

Closing date for applications in 12 noon on Monday 5th January 2026.

We intend to shortlist candidates on Thursday 8th January 2026, afterwhich candidates will be contacted and invited to scheduled interviews on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th Janaury 2026.

Further details about the role

Arranging to visit the school:

The best way of communicating with us about visiting the school is by email to the recruitment email address work@greystonesprimary.com

We appreciate that this vacancy has been advertised at a very busy time in the school calendar and it is now proving very difficult to accommodate visits in the last few days of the Autumn term.

We have an opportunity for interested candidates to visit school outside of operational times, on the morning of Friday 2nd January 2026. With a start time at 11am. Please get in touch in good time if you would like to consider this option.

Throughout the holiday period our recruitment email address will remain available for asking any questions about the role or the school. Monitoring of emails to this inbox will not necessarily happen daily throughout the festive period, so please bear with us patiently in getting back to you.

Commitment to safeguarding

Greystones is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people; we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All shortlisted candidates should disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview. The amendments to the ROA Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and therefore not subject to disclosure to employers. Guidance and criteria can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
