Role Description
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to support Sochitel’s investment research, financial analysis, and decision-making processes across the business. This role will contribute to evaluating new opportunities, monitoring financial performance, and assisting in the preparation of investment materials. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in digital financial services and emerging markets.
The position is based in London, UK and is open to candidates who require visa sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Research & Analysis
• Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, and financial sector developments across key African markets.
• Analyse investment opportunities by preparing financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Support due diligence activities, including data gathering, risk analysis, and preparation of internal review documents.
• Assist in preparing investment reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Financial Modelling & Performance Tracking
• Build and maintain financial models to support valuation, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Track portfolio and business-line performance, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the finance team with data analysis required for forecasting, performance monitoring, and management reporting.
Support for Capital & Investment Processes
• Assist in preparing materials for fundraising activities, investor updates, and internal investment committees.
• Help coordinate research, documentation, and analysis required for investment reviews.
• Support communication with partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders under supervision.
Operational and Analytical Support
• Work with cross-functional teams to assess the financial impact of new products and business initiatives.
• Contribute to research on liquidity, funding needs, and market risks as required.
• Maintain internal databases, dashboards, and analytical tools.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• 1–3+ years of experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, financial modelling, or a related field, with particular reference to African markets.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel or financial modelling tools.
• Interest in digital platforms, fintech, and emerging markets.
• Ability to interpret financial data and produce clear summaries and reports.
• Strong attention to detail, structured thinking, and problem-solving capability.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree in finance, economics, business, or related fields; CFA progress or similar qualifications are an advantage.
