We are looking for care staff to join our domiciliary care organisation in Portsmouth.
Ideally you will be a car driver and have experience in this field. Punctuality is key in attending your calls as we are proud to operate a Service where our clients know when to expect us and continuity of care and staff.
You will be committed to training and improving your care skills to meet the needs of our diverse client base.
We are based in Portsmouth, however we have clients in the surrounding areas of Fareham, Gosport, Waterlooville, Emsworth, Cosham and Hayling Island hence the necessity in having access to a vehicle.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
To be responsible to the Director and Care Co-ordinator and to support other colleagues with the following duties;
· To provide assistance to Service Users with their activities of daily living including personal hygiene, continence needs, nutritional needs and other assistance as required and at all times using the principles in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
· Undertaking at all times the dignity, respect and privacy of our Service Users maintaining their identity and wellbeing in a person-centred manner and to be familiar with Service User’s needs by reading their support plans.
· Documenting on our inhouse care system as directed by the Director or Care Co-ordinator.
· Observing and reporting to the appropriate person any changes in the condition of Service Users immediately.
· To be familiar with the processes in the reporting of incidents and accidents, in particular in the case of a fall.
· Being courteous and respectful to visitors and relatives / representatives of whom visit the Service User.
· In the case of a query or complaint, refer the individual to a member of the Management Team in the first instance and not for the Support Worker to handle this themselves. Avoid personal friendships with friends and relatives of our Service Users to maintain professionalism.
· To be aware of the need for confidentiality under the principles of current Data Protection guidelines and GDPR.
· To be familiar with Safeguarding, the term and what would constitute a Safeguarding concern, reporting any concerns to the Management Team immediately.
· To be appropriately dressed for work in accordance with the Uniform Policy.
· Adhering to principles of the Equality Act 2010 in regard to all stakeholders within the Organisation.
· To attend work in a timely manner.
· To be actively involved in the in-house training programme which includes on-site training, off site training, training modules and on-line training. To be enrolled in the Care Certificate within 12 weeks (if reasonably practicable) and to be involved in any Diploma training in Health and Social Care.
· Being aware of fire prevention Policies and Procedures and being involved in evacuation drills if applicable.
· Being aware of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and being aware of responsibilities under the Health and Safety Act 1974.
· To be available for work according to the contractual requirements for the job and in accordance with the statement of particulars as set out in the Contract of Employment and as detailed in the Organisation’s Staff Handbook.
· To participate in Quality Assurance reviews and to be actively involved in supervision and appraisals as well as competency assessments.
· To be proactive in suggesting ideas and improvements to the Management Team.
