Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic night team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to materials handling, shipping. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
Picking and packing orders safely and securely/accurately
Checking and understanding driver routes
Managing deliveries to be dispatched by 3 Parties.
Receiving goods in and assist with stock placement.
Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy for a safe working environment.
Fully understanding and utilising the full complement of services offered by Bates Office.
Assisting colleagues using their product knowledge.
Setting-up effective communication channels with co workers to ensure co workers are aware of what is happening.
Building Relationships
Proactively build relationships with supplier delivery drivers and any visitors to the warehouse.
Proactively build relationships with colleagues.
Works between colleagues and operations taking ownership to resolve issues.
Acts with integrity; delivers what they say they can, if they can’t do something will be open and upfront about it and proposing viable alternatives/compromises, checks facts before promising.
Manage expectations, works with colleagues to work out a common, win-win agenda.
Communicating with Impact
Uses appropriate language, uses a style they are comfortable with but that suits the occasion, able to change between formal and informal styles as appropriate
Accountability
Takes responsibility for picking errors/queries/complaints.
Takes ownership and follows things through, does not hand things over entirely, but checks and monitors progress
Initiates action to move a situation forward
Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude.
Problem Solving
Delivers solutions and decisions that are effective and turn out to be correct and accurate when judged over time.
Resolves problems, takes ownership for monitoring action against the plan, chases others to deliver their actions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse operations and materials handling
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
Knowledge of stocking, picking & packing, and shipping & receiving processes
