Summary

Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified mechanical fitter to become part of an established rolling stock company based out of Oxley, Wolverhampton. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team dedicated to a High-Speed locomotive fleet

This role falls inside of IR35 and therefore payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella:

Contract: 3 months

Hourly rate: £26.00-£31.16 (Umbrella) /£20.42- £23.18 (PAYE).

Day Shift: Monday to Friday

Times: 06.00 - 14.00

Principal Accountability's

To undertake service and repair of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot.

  • Servicing, maintaining and repair of the overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and equipment.
  • This role involves carrying out the removal, replacement, and fitting of a wide range of components within train carriages to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and compliant with rail standards Ensuring that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Seeking to improve quality.
  • Operate as a member of a work team, as the role of that work team requires.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the working area.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience working in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering environment
  • Mechanical qualification at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of working independently and using own initiative when required
  • Sound judgement with confident decision-making skills
  • Ability to accurately complete all documentation, records, and operational reports in line with procedures
