Location: York

Salary: £34,000 – 35,000

Job Type: Full-time

A brand-new luxury care home in York, is opening in Spring 2026, and we are looking for a compassionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join the leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service from the very beginning.

About the Home

Our new, high-quality residential care home will offer:
An in-house bar and restaurant-standard dining rooms
A full beauty salon and hairdressing room
A cinema and convenience store
Outdoor terraces on each floor
Beautiful landscaped gardens featuring a bowling green, allotments, and private seating areas
All bedrooms will be spacious, fully furnished, en-suite, and designed with premium décor.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and take full responsibility in their absence. You will uphold the values of dignity, independence, privacy, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the Registered Manager to ensure full compliance with health and safety and care standards
Conducting care reviews with residents and families
Assisting with quality assurance, audits, systems, and procedures
Leading and motivating the care team, promoting high standards of care
Sharing on-call duties with the management team
Overseeing daily documentation, rotas, and staff meetings
Communicating effectively with residents, relatives, staff, and external professionals
Training, inducting, and supervising staff

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Flexible, caring, and compassionate
Positive, self-motivated, and well organised
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
A strong communicator
Professional and confident in supporting and guiding junior colleagues
Willing to undertake any necessary training
Experience in a Deputy or Registered Manager position is preferred; however, experienced Senior Care Assistants with the right attitude and leadership qualities will also be considered.
