Summary
For emergency stone treatment. There are endourology lists 5 days a week in a dedicated fluoroscopy theatre, supported by specially trained theatre and radiography staff. The current team consists of 5 stone surgeons, 1 radiographer, 2 lithotripsy technicians and 1 nurse practitioner, in addition to the theatre and admin staff. The unit has received prizes and awards for research into cystinuria and also translational research alongside the medical physics team for a lithotripsy sensor to guide treatment. We have published numerous papers and presented widely on all aspects of the service. We anticipate the postholder to have the ethos of service development and research progression. They would be expected to provide support for the lithotripsy service in particular in addition to their operating lists.
