Summary
A Sterile Services Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilisation of medical instruments and equipment used in clinical procedures. The role ensures that all reusable items are processed to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, supporting infection prevention and enabling healthcare teams to deliver safe patient care.
Key duties include operating cleaning and sterilisation equipment, maintaining accurate records, following strict protocols, and working collaboratively within a fast-paced, quality-controlled environment.
We currently havetwo vacanciesavailable to join our team. The required working hours are:
• Monday to Friday, 14:00–22:00
• Monday to Friday, 16:00–00:00 (midnight)
Please note thatboth roles will also include some weekend and bank holiday work.

• Decontaminate medical instrumentsusing approved cleaning processes and equipment.
• Inspect instrumentsfor damage, completeness, and cleanliness.
• Assemble instrument setsaccording to surgery or department requirements.
• Package and wrap instrumentsfor sterilisation.
• Operate sterilisation equipment, such as autoclaves, washers, and dryers.
• Monitor and record sterilisation cyclesto maintain full traceability and compliance.
• Store and distribute sterile setsto clinical areas in a timely manner.
• Follow strict infection prevention and control protocolsat all times.
• Report faults or damaged equipmentto senior staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environmentand adhere to quality assurance procedures.
