Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
A practising Christian who can actively support and model the Catholic and Church of England Christian ethos of the school
Experience of planning, leading, or contributing to Christian worship (e.g. whole-school worship, assemblies, liturgical prayer, collective worship, seasonal liturgies
Understanding of how the school’s Mission, Christian Values, Catholic Social Teaching (CST), and Church of England Vision for Education (e.g. Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good) shape culture, curriculum, and daily life
Clear commitment to nurturing pupils’ spiritual development in a traditional Christian context.
QTS
Evidence of sustained professional development relevant to senior leadership
Experience of leading on whole school teaching, learning and assessment priorities with impact
Relevant professional development, e.g. NPQ programmes
Successful experience as a senior or middle leader with a strong record of impact.
Demonstrated ability to lead school improvement initiatives.
Experience of monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning
Proven ability to raise standards and improve outcomes for pupils
Experience in safeguarding and contributing to safeguarding leadership.
Line-management experience, including performance management and staff development.
A strong understanding of effective teaching, learning and assessment
An excellent classroom practitioner with a track record of strong outcomes for all children over time
Up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and current educational developments
Ability to analyse data and use it to drive improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
Ability to inspire, motivate and support pupils, colleagues and the wider community
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage change and lead teams effectively
Knowledge of effective approaches to inclusion and adaptive teaching
