Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Children's Community Nursing Team in Knowsley for an experienced/skilled and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist.

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Speacialist to lead and support the team in providing high quality care to children, young people and their families with complex health needs and at end of life.

We are looking for an individual who is able to provide high level complex care to children and families within the knowsley area.

You will be a clincial leader of the team and expected to provide supervision and training.

The team also provide support to specialist schools provision and have a bladder and bowel element to the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in service development of the team, the post holder will work closely with the wider Children, Young People and Families (CYP) teams within the St Helens, Knowsley and Mid- Mersey area.

This post is subject to an enhanced with children’s and adult’s barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

The post consists of being a key worker, sharing your knowledge within the team to junior staff, developing a strong therapeutical relationship with the CYP and their families, and empowering the CYP and their families to lead and take ownership of their own health plans/ needs.

The team you will be joining is a well-established team , within Knowsley and who have developed good working relationships across Knowsley with local stake holders. They have recently attained a good plus throughout all areas and pride themselves on keeping the trust values and morals at the forefront of the daily working day.

We will ensure that you have access to training and the appropriate knowledge, clinical skills, competence, and confidence required to deliver child-specific to the needs of our caseload population.

Plan and manage complex activities and programmes that require constant adjustment to meet the changing needs of children/young people.

Using additional equipment the child/young person may require on a daily basis, or in an emergency.

Have an awareness of the support required for children/young people with tracheostomy’s.

Care of children/young people requiring urinary catheters and peg feeds in the school and community settings in line with a competency framework.

To be a trainer in specific areas of clinical expertise in order to train new team members as well as school staff when appropriate.

Facilitate training from specialist nurses for education staff for the children/young people when appropriate.

Support the child/young person, families and carers at the end-of-life stage including bereavement.
