The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet patient care needs and ensure safe, effective medicines management, including compliance with regulatory standards and implementation of safety alerts. As a senior pharmacy team member, you will also contribute to wider Trust initiatives.
Key opportunities include:
• Developing a non-medical prescribing role
• Pharmaceutical care planning and prescription review
• Supporting service users in medicine-related decisions to optimise treatment and outcomes
• Providing specialist advice to the MDT
• Offering clinical supervision and leadership
• Contributing to service redesign and medicines optimisation strategies
• Ensuring governance for medicines management and monitoring prescribing
• Attending strategic network meetings
This role suits enthusiastic, experienced Pharmacists committed to improving patient care. Strong organisational skills, flexibility, and excellent communication are essential.
There is some flexibility around the commitment of the number of hours, therefore we welcome flexible working applications and job shares.
You will have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience, and previous experience in mental health. A qualification as a non-medical prescriber or postgraduate qualifications in Psychiatry would be desirable but applicants with a willingness to work towards these qualifications will be considered.
There is no current requirement to work on-call, Bank Holidays or weekends. Due to the location of various units, an ability and willingness to travel around Trust locations is required.
The Clinical Pharmacy service is highly regarded within the organisation and should you wish to join our team you will become one of a large team of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Medicines Management Nurses and Pharmacy Assistants working across the Trust.
