Neway International are seeking five SEND Assessment & Review Officers (Grade 12) to join our client, Somerset Council, within the Children Families & Education Service.

Location
The Crescent, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 4DY, United Kingdom Flexible working pattern: fully remote is acceptable, office attendance welcomed.

Hours
37 hours per week Full-time working pattern, flexibility available

Start/End Dates
Start: 22 December 2025 Duration: 13 weeks

Pay Rates
PAYE: £27.78 per hour

Umbrella/Ltd: £37.66 per hour (IR35 Status: Inside IR35)

About the Client
Somerset Council delivers vital services across the county, supporting children, families, and education. The SEND Assessment & Review team plays a key role in ensuring children and young people with special educational needs receive the right support through Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The Role
As a SEND Assessment & Review Officer, you will focus on drafting EHCPs, including both new assessments and amendments through the review process. You will work within the Education, EP & SEND Assessments structure, supporting the delivery of inclusive education services.

Key Responsibilities
Draft Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for new assessments.

Amend and update EHCPs through the statutory review process.

Collaborate with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

Contribute to the effective delivery of SEND services within Somerset Council.

Candidate Requirements
Strong knowledge of SEND processes and EHCP requirements.

Experience in drafting and reviewing EHCPs within a local authority or education setting.

Ability to manage workload effectively during peak demand periods.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
