We have a vacancy at our Day Service! This is a rare opportunity to join our team. Community/Activity Support Worker – Supporting able adults with Learning Disabilities.

Full time, permanent Community/Activity Support Worker Monday to Friday 8am. to 4.15/4.30pm
As part of our team, you will:- -support groups of adults with learning disabilities. -help and encourage them to take part in activities with their friends.
This will include many activities out in the community and some onsite using facilities at our premises.
You may have experience of people with Learning Disabilities either through a work role or personally, but this is not essential.
The role would suit someone who enjoys taking part and can encourage others. You may have transferable skills and are willing to learn.
The role includes getting involved in lots of varied activities.
You need a flexible and enthusiastic attitude to motivate those you are supporting, work as part of a team and contribute towards the smooth running of our organisation.
An ability to communicate well verbally and relate to people with differing needs is essential. You should be fluent in English to negotiate with and influence others, including achieving agreement between groups of individuals with different ideas.
A full driving license is essential. You will be driving our 7/8-seater vehicles daily, collecting clients from their homes, taking them to activities and returning them home at the end of the day. If you also have daily access to your own vehicle, with business use insurance this may be an advantage.
The service operates for 49 weeks per year and part of your holiday entitlement is used for those weeks.
An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken at our expense and references are required.
All staff are encouraged to take up recommended vaccines and health screening. This can be facilitated by us. Willingness to follow strict IPC measures as necessary from time to time is essential.

You will have excellent communication skills, understanding and empathy for adults with Learning Disabilities.
You will share our vision to empower the people you work with; to push boundaries and support them to engage and have a rewarding life whilst developing a sense of responsibility for themselves and towards others and their community.
Qualifications are not essential. We need fun people with the right values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own.

Full-time Monday to Friday 8am – 4.15/4.30pm £13.21 per hour (After initial probationary period)
