Summary
You will provide strategic leadership to the University’s Internal Communications and Engagement Team, developing and delivering internal communication and engagement strategies that bring our vision and values to life, connect staff to our purpose, and provide opportunities for genuine dialogue and collaboration. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring authentic, inclusive, and innovative communication approaches that align with institutional priorities, enhance employee engagement, and drive continuous improvement through evidence-based evaluation.
You will be accountable for the Internal Communications function, ensuring excellent customer service to stakeholders and maintaining, developing, and optimising internal communication channels to deliver clear, timely, and engaging content across the University. You will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a talented team, fostering a positive, high-performing culture, ensuring clarity of purpose, professional growth, and collaboration across the team, service and wider University.
About you
You will be an experienced strategic communicator who brings energy, insight, and strong influencing skills. You’ll be confident managing multiple priorities in a complex environment and experienced in developing and delivering communication plans to support change initiatives. You’ll be data-savvy and audience-focused, with a keen eye for high-quality messaging, storytelling and delivery. You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build capability, nurture talent, and create an inclusive and supportive team environment.
