We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Dialysis Healthcare Assisatant to join our Renal Services team. The post holder will work under the supervision of registered nurses to support the safe and effective delivery of haemodialysis treatment to patients with Chronic Kidney Disease
You will play a key role in preparing equipment and dialysis machines, monitoring patients throughout dialysis and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
The job requires someone that exudes our Trust Values: Excellent, Compassionate and Respectful. Although experience is not necessary for this role as full training is provided, having worked in care, or provided care would be advantageous to the role.
Assist qualified staff in providing a caring, respectful, and effective service tailored to individual patient needs.
Prepare dialysis equipment, initiate and discontinue dialysis procedures, and ensure thorough cleaning of machines and surrounding areas post-treatment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols.
Maintain a safe and hygienic care environment for patients, staff, and visitors, promoting health and safety at all times.
Deliver sensitive and appropriate clinical care under supervision, upholding patient dignity, cultural beliefs, and emotional wellbeing.
Handle and exchange patient information with accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality in line with Trust policies.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to qualified staff, contributing to timely and appropriate interventions.
Support patients emotionally and practically throughout their dialysis journey, fostering trust and reassurance.
Participate in training and development activities to maintain competence and contribute to service improvement.
